On June 14, the National Audubon Society announced research findings that indicate significant declines in common North American birds over the past four decades. Declines range from 82% for the Northern Bobwhite to 54% for the Ruffed Grouse.
Audubon provides a list of the top 20 birds in decline. They have also posted their technical report and an Audubon Magazine article on the findings.
